The Compassion Ministry's goal is to care for those in need in our church body and the Upper Valley emphasizing God's love in both word and deed. We offer financial assistance to those in our community and church body who meet certain qualifications. To qualify to for our financial assistance program please call or email our office to set up an appointment with our Compassion Team. We are attempting to lead the church in the biblical mandate from 1 John 3:17-18:
But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
and Galatians 6:10
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
The Compassion Ministry is looking for additional volunteers to conduct interviews with people who come to the church in need of financial assistance. This is a great opportunity to share the gospel, pray with people, and provide direct support for their physical needs. Meeting times can be flexible, and training is available. Come join a team that has a heart for ministering to the weary and heavy-laden, and experience the joy of pointing people to the source of the great hope that is within us! Please contact Holly Weinstein at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
For more information or if you need financial assistance or know someone who does please contact the church office at email@example.com or call 802-295-5000
