Women's Ministries

The mission of Women’s Ministries at Valley Bible Church is to “present every woman complete in Christ” for His glory and “for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry to the building up of the body of Christ.” (Colossians 1:29, Ephesians 4:12). We provide opportunities for women to develop relationships and grow in their faith through Bible studies and fellowship, special events and service projects. We invite you to join in one of our Bible studies or pop into one of our special events throughout the year. For more information contact colleenwhatley@live.com

Our desire is to bring honor and glory to God through:

Spiritual growth:

To encourage women to a lifestyle of devotion and joyful obedience to Christ as Savior and Lord as they love Him, walk in the power of His Holy Spirit, and are transformed by the power of His Word into His likeness.

Fellowship:

To provide opportunities for women to develop new friendships and strengthen existing ones.

Equipping:

To present opportunities in leadership, Bible studies, mentoring, evangelism, and the spiritual disciplines.

Women's ministry accomplishes these goals and objectives through weekly Bible studies, mentoring relationships, and special gatherings and events. Bible Studies and Discipleship Groups

Bible Studies and Discipleship Groups

Bible studies are designed to help women grow together in their intimacy with God through the study of His Word, praying, sharing, and encouraging one another in community. Each study is composed of women of all ages and stages of life.

This year’s theme is “Standing Fast in the Lord Through Difficulties” and will use our inductive method to study Colossians, 1 Timothy, Philemon, 2 Timothy, Jude, and 1 Thessalonians.

Our Bible studies will begin either the week of September 18th or 25th depending upon the group and run through early June, providing breaks for holidays and school vacations. The cost of our studies varies depending upon the group and all groups offer scholarships.

$10 – for Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoon studies

$15 – for Thursday morning study using Knowing the Bible "series" study guides.

If you are not able to join us in September, you are welcome to jump in any time during this year. Here is our schedule, showing when we will begin each of the books (of course, all are subject to hurricanes, snow, and ice storms!). The week of:

Sep 18 – Colossians

Nov 6 – 1 Timothy

Jan 22 – Philemon…this is our halfway point and an excellent time to join in!

Feb 5 – 2 Timothy

Mar 26 – Jude

Apr 16 – 1 Thessalonians

Mentoring/Discipleship

To provide opportunities to come alongside a woman to model, equip, and train through lifestyle, life experiences, and scripture.

Modeled after Titus 2:3-5 "Older women train the younger women"; one-on-one relationships make for a special relationship for support, encouragement, accountability, prayer, and fun times. If you would be interested in a mentoring relationship, please contact anyone on the Women’s Ministry team or the church office for more information.

The Women's Ministry Team

The Women's Ministry Team meets bi-monthly to coordinate women's events and Bible studies. If you would like to join or have any questions, please contact Colleen Whatley

Special Gatherings and Events

Special events, such as social events, retreats, and service projects are offered throughout the year. These events provide fellowship, fun, service, and spiritual growth for our women. These gatherings are ideal for inviting friends.
